The BraaiShield uses slowly spinning holographic blades that create a visual deterrent for flies. The light refraction from the holographic surface confuses and repels flies, keeping them away from your food without chemicals, sprays, or swatting.

Absolutely — the BraaiShield uses no chemicals, no sprays, and no pesticides. It works purely through the visual deterrent effect of the spinning holographic blades, making it completely safe to use directly next to food and drinks.

The BraaiShield charges via USB and can be powered by any USB power source — a power bank, laptop, car charger, or standard USB wall adapter. This makes it perfect for outdoor use even when there's no plug nearby.

For a standard 6-seater braai table, one BraaiShield per end works well. The 2-pack gives you perfect coverage for most tables. For larger tables or buffet spreads, 2–3 packs placed evenly along the table provides optimal fly deterrence.

Yes — the BraaiShield works equally well indoors. It's ideal for restaurants, outdoor kitchens, braai areas, and any indoor dining space where flies are a problem. Many restaurants and caterers use multiple units across their tables.

The blades spin at a slow, gentle speed — fast enough to create the holographic deterrent effect, but slow enough to be safe around hands and completely quiet so it won't disrupt conversation at the table.
